There’s no shortage of fun near our senior living community this season

It’s a new season and the perfect time of year to try out new activities! As the weather warms up and the sun starts to say hello again, we’ve put together a list of exciting things for our Sage Park Memory Care and Transitional Assisted Living residents, as well as their family and friends, to enjoy. Whether you want to venture out into town or stay on our luxurious grounds, there are all kinds of fun to get into. Happy Spring!

Weekly Activities at Sage Park

Did you know our Life Enrichment Director keeps our calendar full of weekly community activities? We offer weekly classes from yoga to gardening, strength training to crafting. In addition to classes, we put on monthly events for residents to enjoy! Every first and third Thursday brings therapy dogs for a visit. Every first Thursday, we visit the animal care clinic, and every first Friday there’s a dance social! Check our website for weekly and monthly activities, or ask our friendly staff for a schedule.

Creekside Park

If you’d like to spend some time in nature, we highly recommend Creekside Park. There is so much to explore in this dynamic park! It features a waterfall with a bridge perfect for snapping a picture in front of. There’s beautiful walking paths and grassy areas where you can bring a picnic to enjoy with your loved one. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can rent a paddle boat and go for a float in the water of Big Walnut Creek. On a really warm day, you can wade into the creek as well. There are also options to go fishing. Creekside Park offers so much fun for any spring day!

Gahanna Historical Society Settlement

Go back in time to the 1800’s with this historical site! The Gahanna Historical Society Settlement features multiple historic homes, a bed and breakfast, garden, and national wildlife habitat. The settlement is situated along the bank of the Big Walnut Creek, and visitors can enjoy tours, events, and demonstrations. This is the perfect activity for history buffs or anyone who wants to learn more about life in the 1800s. Plus a stroll in the garden is the perfect spring activity–you may even see some of the wildlife there!

Municipal Golf Course

One of the best things you can do for your physical and mental health during any season is get outside for some fresh air and natural vitamin D. If the Municipal Golf Course’s beautiful green calls to your golfing heart, set up a tee time! From spring to fall, their pro shop carries the right equipment and has the friendliest staff to help you out. Are you a frequent golfer? Consider their Active Senior Golf League! The League plays on Thursdays and also visits area courses. The annual sign-up meeting is held in April, so definitely check it out!

Glow Putt Mini Golf

If you’re not interested in all 18 holes on the green, give mini golf a try! The fun gets kicked up a notch with the neon glow and jungle theme of Glow Putt Mini Golf. Glow Putt is actually indoors, which is perfect for those rainy spring days. While you putt under the blacklight, you will also experience the jungle of tiki gods, exotic wildlife, bamboo forest, and a dinosaur invasion. To us, that sounds like an incredible time for the whole family! Come dressed for the occasion; customers say to wear white or neon to get into the glowing spirit.

There are so many fun things to do at and around Sage Park, our Gahanna, OH Memory Care community! If you’d like to get more information about us or schedule a tour, visit us online. We look forward to hearing about all the fun you get up to!
