Get ready to step into warmer days and enjoy these spring-time activities

Over the last several years, Greenville, SC has become a hub of culture and activity. For active seniors looking to be at the center of it all, there’s no better place to be! Maple Brook Terrace Retirement Living is an independent retirement community located in Greenville, SC. With many opportunities available for our residents to get outdoors (both at our community and in the larger Greenville community), we look forward to watching our senior residents take advantage of the nice weather and get active this spring!

Our Life Enrichment Director plans a packed calendar of activities for our residents, including both mental and physical activities that keep our residents healthy and happy. In addition, residents are always welcome to enjoy our beautiful outdoor common spaces anytime they wish. But part of the appeal of our community is its fantastic location in Greenville, South Carolina, which has tons of events and activities available for active seniors who want to enjoy spring.

Below are a few events in Greenville to experience everything that the city has to offer:

Enjoy Live Music In Downtown

Greenville has two large music events each year, and both are starting this spring! Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive and Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays are the perfect events if you love live music. These events have local musicians and bands perform live at NOMA Square on Main Street. The Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive is on Thursdays from March 17 – August 25, and the Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays is (appropriately) on Fridays and runs from March 18 – September 23. All concerts start at 5:30 p.m. These events typically bring in quite a crowd, so be sure to prepare for wait times and potential parking delays. But our residents don’t have to wait–our convenient transportation service can get them there without worrying about finding a parking space.

Embrace Your Green Thumb At The City’s Plant Sale

The Greater Greenville Master Gardeners host a plant sale every year, and this year’s event takes place on April 30. If you love caring for plants and growing your own herbs and veggies, you won’t want to miss this event. You can expect to find the following types of plants at their sale:

  • native plants
  • butterfly plants
  • perennials
  • vegetables and herbs
  • shrubs
  • trees
  • plant collectors table
  • hand-crafted garden art
  • and more!

Now is the perfect time to spring clean your home and add a new house plant to liven up your space.
