Festive activities for Autumn enthusiasts!

Fall is here, and that means cool crisp air, pumpkin flavored treats, and new activities to try! Here at Sage Park Memory Care and Transitional Assisted Living, we love to help our residents get into the fall spirit by encouraging them to try new activities all season long! Here are a few fun ideas of activities to try while at our community this fall:

Paint A Pumpkin

A little safer than pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting is a great way to decorate for fall while also expressing your creativity! Your loved one can go the traditional jack-o-lantern route, or could get even more creative and come up with something new. Regardless of how you or your loved one chooses to paint it, having a custom piece of decor for the rest of the season is sure to bring joy. Check out these great painted pumpkins for inspiration!

Create A Fall Wreath For Your Door

Another crafty activity to try this fall is to create a seasonal wreath for your door. A fun and festive way to decorate, and it’s a great way to be creative! For this DIY project, you can find a guide online or purchase a wreath making kit. Regardless of how you choose to go about it, this is a fun, festive, and family-friendly way to be creative and help prepare your home for the fall months. If looking to plan ahead, you can also take the time to make a winter themed wreath as well. We can’t wait to see them on our residents’ doors!

Try A New Delicious Fall Recipe

If you’re anything like us, fall signifies the beginning of a comfort-food-filled season. From holidays to chilly days spent inside, the cool and crisp air inspires soul-warming foods. This is one of our favorite times of the year to try a new recipe – specifically one that incorporates in-season produce, and flavors that remind us of autumn! Whether it’s a new take on an old classic like this skillet lasagna, or something completely new, we encourage you to give a new dish a try this fall! Here are some easy fall-themed meals to whip up:

Visit One Of Your Local Farmers Markets

Nothing screams fall quite like a cool morning browsing farm fresh produce with a warm drink in hand. That’s why one of our favorite fall activities is to head to your local farmers market to see what locally spruced items are readily available!
Here are a couple of farmers markets in the area to check out:

These are three farmers markets that will be sure to help you get into the spirit of fall with their locally grown produce, handcrafted items, and so much more. For additional farmers markets in the area you can find a list here.

All of us here at Sage Park Memory Care and transitional assisted living love helping our residents make the most of any season, and we cannot wait to help them dive into the festivities of fall.
