Spring into action this season and get involved with new activities in Folsom

As spring approaches, now is the perfect time to find new ways to stay busy during the beautiful upcoming months. Whether it be getting outside and exploring the beautiful landscapes that surround us here at Creekside Oaks, our Folsom independent living community, or enjoying dining and shopping in town, we encourage all of our residents to take full advantage of our wonderful location and local activities. At our independent living community near Sacramento, there are ample opportunities for residents and visitors alike to get out and stay busy during the upcoming months. The expert team at Creekside Oaks Retirement Community has compiled this must-do list of activities for the spring:

Visit the Folsom Historical Museum

With the days getting longer, there is more time to explore local attractions like the Folsom Historical Museum. Dive into the history of Folsom with the museum’s permanent exhibit that shares the area’s historical beginnings all the way up to the 1960s. Learn about Folsom from a modern perspective and get to know our great town. While there, make sure to check out the Historic Pioneer Village, which transports visitors back through time to experience life as earlier residents would have. Located just a few blocks from each other, these historical attractions are a must-see this spring.

Stroll Down Sutter Street into the Historic District

Step out of the Historical Museum into the Folsom Historic District. With storefront facades showcasing 1850s architecture from when the town was established, to shops and seasonal activities, there is no shortage of charm when taking a stroll down Sutter Street. The Historic District will host a Spring Concert Series starting in April; make sure that you leave Sunday afternoons open so you can enjoy the music and scenery this spring.

Enjoy the Outdoors at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area

Located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area offers beautiful views and includes over 19,000 acres to explore. Whether going for a casual walk along the 32-mile Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail, boating, fishing or biking, there is no shortage of activities to partake in while visiting the park. The Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail that runs through the recreation area connects all the way to Sacramento. If you are up for an adventure this season, this is a must for your list.

Spend an Afternoon Shopping at the Folsom Premium Outlets

Just minutes from our Creekside Oaks community, Folsom Premium Outlets is home to over 80 stores. With endless name-brand options, this is the perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon here in Folsom. As an outdoor shopping center, it provides an opportunity to spend time taking in the fresh air of spring, while also catching up on shopping for the latest trends. Regardless of what you are looking for, you will be sure to find it at this premium shopping center. Take a stop next time you’re in town!
