Initiative Seeks to Chronicle Senior’s Poignant Life Stories From Across the U.S

Upon Completion in January 2020, All-Inclusive, Resort-Style Community Will Offer Array of
Modern Amenities For Active Senior Living

METHUEN, Mass (October 1st, 2019) – Seniors across the Merrimack Valley, who have eagerly been waiting for their opportunity to learn more about The Woods of Merrimack retirement community opening in early January 2020, will be afforded a sneak peek when the community holds a grand opening for its models on Saturday, October 12. The free event, which will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., will feature tours of the on-site apartment models, local entertainment and light refreshments, and the opportunity to speak with trusted local experts to support a seamless transition into the new community. Tours should be reserved in advance by contacting Kristina Gannon at (978) 891-7530 or Kristina.gannon@sunshineret.com.

When construction is completed early next year, The Woods at Merrimack will offer best-in-class, all-inclusive, resort-style retirement living. Managed by Sunshine Retirement Living, a family-owned business based in Bend, Oregon, with more than 20 senior living communities across the country, the community will feature 140 thoughtfully designed apartments on beautifully landscaped grounds with an array of world-class amenities to appeal to today’s more modern and active senior. The community is located at 197-199 Howe Street directly across from the Merrimack Valley Golf Club and conveniently located close to entertainment, restaurants and shopping, medical centers and parks and recreation areas.

The community will offer both one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from approximately 480 to 850 square feet, many with private balconies to enjoy the scenic vistas. Each apartment will feature modern kitchens with full-size stainless steel appliances, self-closing drawers and cabinets, and granite countertops. Residents will also enjoy en-suite washer/dryers, carpeting in the bedrooms, and plank flooring in the living areas. Bathrooms will include walk-in showers with built-in benches and handrails, and emergency pull cords will be located in the baths and bedrooms. Residents will also appreciate the attention paid to soundproofing in the walls and floors/ceilings with double-pane windows that also help moderate interior temperature.

“For seniors seeking a high-quality, amenity-rich living experience at an affordable cost in the Merrimack Valley, The Woods at Merrimack will offer that and more,” said Luis Serrano, CEO, Sunshine Retirement Living.“Yet, first and foremost, The Woods at Merrimack, like all our communities, will follow a Person-Centered Care philosophy, offering our residents numerous services, comforts and conveniences to support their physical, social, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs. And it couldn’t be located in a more beautiful area on Boston’s North Shore.”

Built on 8.7 acres, the community’s two meticulously designed buildings will encompass approximately 140,000 square feet of living and communal space. Exceptional, resort-style amenities will include 24/7 gourmet dining, round-the-clock friendly and helpful concierge service, weekly housekeeping, on-call apartment maintenance with all utilities included in an affordable monthly rent. Residents will also enjoy a wellness/fitness center, library/game room, computer room, chapel, formal and casual dining rooms, large lounge and bar, art studio, reserved parking, theater, and beauty salon/barber shop – all conveniently located on-site.
